FLAX BOURTON CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL

              FLAX BOURTON SCHOOL ASSOCIATION

FBSA Committee Members

A new committee was formed in December 2001, involving brand new and established committee members. We have a great mine of skills, experience, and have parents with children from most of the school years, which will stand us in excellent stead to achieve our goals. The committee presently stands with eleven people.

On the social side we also organise Mums Night's Out and have in the recent past been to the theatre, a comedy night, Chinese and Greek meals.

The Committee members are:

 Kirsten Durie - Chair

 Rachel Butler - Treasurer

 Bev Letherby - Secretary

 Sarah Weavers

 Tracey Dodds

 Julia Edwards

 Lisa Parker

 Jayne Bayliss

 Vanessa Avery

 Sarah Brodrick

FBSA Aims

Fund raising and social activities are already in the diary for the year ahead and as usual we have a long wish list of things we would like to do and buy!

Our plan is to maintain our contributions to regular and priority items for the school.  These include educational trips, book bags for new starters, library funding, leavers gifts and celebrations at christmas.

Plans and momentum already exist to improve our outdoor facilities and the FBSA is looking to lend support this year to this important project. Already we have added to the development of the wildlife and conservation area and purchased (much used!) new playground equipment!  We hope to re do the playground markings with traditional courts and games such as hopscotch to provide the children with a valuable source of inspiration at playtimes and to continue to make the playground a happy & friendly place.

FUNDRAISING POLICY

Fundraising must be for educationally valid purposes.

We will prioritise funding according to
-Number of Children it will benefit.

-Views of all members

-Educational validity

-Budgetary constraints

Guiding principles.

At the end of each fundraising year, we aim to demonstrate that

Fundraising has been allocated on an appropriate basis (per child head) to each educational class and year.
We have empowered teachers to spend allocated funds to best deliver against their class & pupil needs.
All funds have been spent on educationally valid and the highest priority needs.
We have allocated funds towards the most significant and high priority needs of Flax Bourton School.
We have achieved a good balance of funding between both large projects and smaller needs of Flax Bourton School.
We have listened to the needs and views of all association members and applied funding decisions ethically, stringently, and fairly.

How will we do this?
