24 Jul 2007 - North Somerset Council Press Release
Flax Bourton Church of England Primary School has recently been inspected and the results have given the staff and governors plenty to be proud of.
Inspectors from Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) visited the school in May. They highlighted the school as "rapidly improving" due in the main to the "determined leadership of the Headteacher Ms Jane Bennett and the effective support of its staff and governors".
Inspectors also found that "the school is a happy and harmonious place to be with a rich curriculum that is both relevant and interesting and enthuses and motivates pupils well".
Nigel Somerville, chair of the governing body commented "we are delighted with the latest Ofsted inspection which has clearly recognised the hard work undertaken by all those associated with the school.
"In particular they have highlighted our head as giving the guidance and leadership required to continually improve the schools performance. Whilst we know there is always more to do and we have high expectations and know there is potential to improve even further."
Flax Bourton is a small village school where the ethos and motto is "Aiming high, respecting others, having fun."
